Shelby County, Alabama invites qualified applicants to apply for the following positions which, unless otherwise noted, are open to both internal and external applicants. Click on the position title to review a specific job announcement. Applicants should ensure that completed applications for advertised vacancies are received in the Personnel Office by 4:30 p.m. on the published closing date. Applications received after the closing date for a position will not be considered. If you mail your application, please allow enough time for delivery. Applications postmarked by the deadline, but not received in the Personnel Office by the deadline will be disqualified and marked as received after the deadline.

POSITIONS
OPEN COMPETITIVE - open to all applicants. PROMOTIONAL - open only to those applicants who are currently employed by Shelby County in a full-time classified service position. Positions which indicate an "OPEN" filing deadline will remain open until the Personnel Department receives a sufficient number of applications; these positions can close for application at any time without notice.
