If you have relocated either into or within Shelby County
since your last vehicle registration, you will be required
to provide proof of residency. You must visit one of
our license offices and present one of the following:
ITEMS
THAT CAN BE USED TO PROVE RESIDENCY:
Note:
Alabama Drivers License and ID cannot be used
for proof of residency.

Home Property Tax in
the applicant’s name showing homestead exemption.

A current apartment
lease in the applicant’s name or listed as an occupant.

A deposit on
utilities in the applicant’s name.

A current utility
bill for a Shelby County residence in the applicant’s name (Electric,gas,water,sewer,
garbage, cable, and landline telephone).

Military Orders to
Shelby County (Date must be current).

School Registration
or Student I. D.
If you are new to Shelby County, please bring your last
registration receipt with you.
